After lots of work on cleaning up under the hood and a little work to get the new weather feature for subscribers up and running, I am happy to report that the release beta for version 12 has been released to the testers! We have already found and fixed several things, so I am confident this version will be live within the next week or two. Here is a summary of the changes:
Fixed the Kp Index readings on the main screen
Changed from Current/Forecast to Current 3-Hour/Latest 1-Minute
3-Hour Kp values are the SWPC standard
1-Minute Kp values help see what is happening dynamically
Added weather icon to top menu for subscribers
Get the latest weather for your current location (closest major airport)
Get the 12-hour forecast in 3-hour blocks
Get the 3-day nighttime forecast for your location (closest major airport)
Added a weather units setting option on the settings screen
Choose between imperial and metric units
Added a 'Round Values' setting option on the settings screen
Currently resides under the table on the main screen
Will drop from the main screen and live permanently on the settings screen in a future release
Areas planned/still needing to be worked on in upcoming releases:
Color customization (an accessibility feature)
Weather for multiple locations, not just current
Filtering erroneous/bad aurora reports
